TT&C Antennas

forme 1
Anywaves S-Band TT&C antennas are used in the subsystem that provides the telemetry, tracking & command links between the satellite and the ground station.

In your space mission, the tracking function will allow you to accurately determine your spacecraft’s position and velocity.

The command function involves transmitting commands to the spacecraft to pilot and adjust its trajectory. This link has a great importance starting from the launch of the satellite and up to the end of the mission. To ensure that you will be able to communicate with your spacecraft, our antennas have a wide beam, an excellent axial ratio at high elevations and a full-coverage of the TT&C S-Band. In order to answer to your needs, we have carefully designed two different antennas, our TT&C S-Band antenna and our compact TT&C S-Band antenna.

Both of them provides a hemispherical coverage, a circular polarization and a full-duplex telemetry and telecommand. The compact S-Band antenna offers a slimmer design and better performance at wide elevations. We also offer a test cap that will allow you to perform end-to-end radio frequency tests directly on your satellite.

Industrialization

Our industrialization process for TT&C space antennas is designed to ensure that we deliver high-quality products to our customers in a timely and efficient manner. To achieve this, we have streamlined our production processes to ensure that we can effectively manage large-scale production while maintaining strict quality control measures. We believe that by adhering to the principle of “less is more,” we can produce space antennas that are both innovative and reliable.

Testing Process

In order to guarantee the durability and functionality of our antennas under the severe environmental conditions they will encounter from launch to orbit, we conduct a series of rigorous tests. These tests include qualification tests and acceptance tests. The purpose of the qualification tests is to demonstrate that one or more models of the product can withstand the various life cycles of a space product. On the other hand, acceptance tests are carried out on each flight model to ensure that the product delivered to the customer is functional and durable.

Q&A

What does TT&C stand for?

In the space industry, TT&C stands for “Telemetry, Tracking, and Command.” TT&C refers to the communication and control processes involved in monitoring and managing spacecraft. Telemetry involves collecting and transmitting data from the spacecraft to the ground station, tracking involves accurately determining the spacecraft’s position, and command refers to sending instructions or commands from the ground station to the spacecraft. TT&C is crucial for spacecraft operations, ensuring efficient communication, monitoring, and control of the mission.

What are the key features of a TT&C antenna?

Our TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking, and Command) antennas at ANYWAVES offer a range of key features that make them ideal for space communication. These features include wide beam radiation patterns, ensuring reliable data transmission and reception. Our antennas are designed to operate within the S-band frequency range, enabling efficient communication with spacecraft. They are built using high-quality materials and robust construction to withstand the demanding environmental conditions of space missions. With their exceptional performance, durability, and compatibility with TT&C systems, our S-band antennas provide reliable and efficient communication links for space applications.

Do you propose an EM (Engineering Model) and/or a FM (Flight Model) item?

As on all our products, we propose two different versions for our TT&C antennas: an engineering model and a flight model. Both have the same electrical performances as they use the same materials and processes. On flight models, we perform meticulous and rigorous acceptance tests.
